Due to the materials used in these newly manufactured shells, as well as the automated process in which they are made, disassembly is sometimes a bit more difficult as the screw posts are tight. Care and caution must be taken if you are trying to take the shell apart. I highly recommend you watch the YouTube video I made about it on my channel https://www.youtube.com/@vhsislife as I explain the situation in depth. If the center post is tight do NOT bend the shell or pull on the shell as you will simply crack or break it. “IF” the center post does break it’s not that big of a deal as that post is not necessary for the tape to function and will not cause issues down the road. Also be aware that since 1/2″ magnetic media for VHS has not been produced since 2004, the magnetic media in them, although virgin media from unused tape providers from back when 1/2″ VHS magnetic media was made, is 20+ years old. Potential quality issues such as squeaking, static, dropouts, artifacts, and tracking issues could present during recording/playback. Refunds/Exchanges will not be provided for poor media quality or for shells damaged while trying to take them apart. These shells should be considered as novelty collectibles made to further the VHS hobby and not professionally manufactured by a large company for movie/media releases. If you are disatisfied with the magnetic media quality or any of the above mentioned issues, you may return for a refund at your own expense per the “General Warranty” stated in the “Terms and Conditions” page.
